Emily Vinych M. A., LPCC joined In Focus Counseling after graduating from her Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and specializes in OCD and anxiety.
Emily received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Dakota State University and went onto pursue her master’s degree from Northwestern University. She helps adults who are currently struggling with varying forms of anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, OCD, and depression; in addition to individuals experiencing transitional difficulties and relationship problems. She focused her clinical training hours working with adults in an anxiety and OCD specialized practice where Emily discovered her passion for treating OCD and helping clients challenge the inevitable uncertainties of life. Emily is experienced using a variety of cognitive behavioral (CBT) approaches, including exposure and response prevention (EX/RP), but understands that each person’s therapeutic needs vary and therefore tailors her treatment accordingly for each client.
Emily believes that the first step to a successful therapy experience is a trusting therapeutic relationship and is passionate about helping her clients explore healthier perspectives, new ways of thinking, and learn to use different therapeutic techniques on their own.
